Day 2

I'm writing this one from the road in Minnesota. A few miles back we passed through a wind orchard. Each of the hundreds of mills in it had a fist-sized ruby light that pulsed in time together, giving me the impression that we drove through a field of enormous beating hearts suspended high above the ground. The effect was incredibly striking at night, with no other cars around for miles.
Earlier in Wisconsin, Carol and I got to watch a sunset that we called 'gilded cerulian-tangerine'.
Carol indulged me today as we visited 3 skate parks, the first in Michigan (Marshall park), the second in Indiana (O'Brien's park), and the last in Wisconsin (lake delton park). Lake Delton was the best so far, with a smooth, fun bowl with pool coping and plenty of interesting transitions and lines.
